Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you were surrounded by loving family, delicious food and lots of laughter this festive season.
We weren’t able to make it to Australia this year for Christmas and so we did the obvious next best thing: travelled! Surprise, surprise. We escaped Berlin and spent a short Christmas getaway in Amsterdam instead. Our days were spent wandering the beautiful canals in the Jordaan district — arguably Amsterdam’s most charming neighbourhood and our obvious choice of location to base ourselves — indulging in Dutch pancakes, lots of red wine and far too much appeltaart. We rented a bright, little Airbnb apartment overlooking the canal, complete with fireplace and all. If we couldn’t spend Christmas at home with family, this was definitely the next best thing.

GO: Well, this year’s basically over and I’ve been busy lately trying to map out all of my travel planning for 2015. A fresh, new year is an exciting prospect isn’t it? Where will it take you?
